Microscipic Description: Sections of an oral mass are examined. There is an unencasuplated mass in the submucosa composed of pleomorphic ovoid to occasionally spindle-shaped cells. The cells are forming small nests surrounded by a fibrovascular connective tissue trabecular stroma. The cells have atypical pleomorphic nuclei with marginated and coarsely clumped chromatin. Nucleoli are prominent. There is a high mitotic rate. The cytoplasm is ovoid to spindle s haped with no distinctive features.
Microscopic Findings: Amelanotic melanoma, malignant, oral.
